Atlinks' new 900mhz product line features affordable ge-brand cordless telephones with fresh designs, caller id, and digital messaging.

New Models Include Crystal Clear Sound“ Technology and Digital Security to Minimize Interference

Indianapolis, August 9, 2002- Continuing to provide consumers with a variety of communications solutions, ATLINKS is introducing a new line of
GE-brand 900MHz cordless phones featuring compact designs and convenience features at competitive price points. The new models range from basic cordless units to full-featured models that incorporate digital messaging systems and Caller ID. ATLINKS, the communications joint venture of Thomson (Paris Euronext: 18453) (NYSE: TMS) and Alcatel, is the market leader in home telephone products in the United States.

Features shared by the four new phones include 40-channel auto scan, which automatically selects the clearest channel, providing improved reception and excellent range; Crystal Clear SoundÒ technology, which improves sound quality by helping reduce background noise; and digital security, which helps prevent interference from other cordless telephones. Other common features are a reversible recharge cradle, 10-number memory, handset volume control (which adjusts incoming calls to a desired level), a flexible handset antenna, handset volume control, a ringer control, a nickel cadmium battery and low battery indicator.

"Since 900MHz analog telephones continue to dominate the cordless phone category, we have developed a new line of products to fulfill consumers' desire for products that incorporate popular features into contemporary designs," said Eldon Chuck, Vice President of Marketing for ATLINKS. The 900MHz series sports a brand new look, incorporating "nightglow" blue into the keypad, and an upright base that makes it easier for users to read the Caller ID display. The compact base design adds to the units' versatility, making the phones a perfect fit for the bedroom, living room or kitchen.

Four New Models

The 26998GE1 900MHz Cordless Telephone with Digital Messaging and Call-Waiting Caller ID combines the convenience of a telephone and messaging system in one unit. The 26998GE1 provides up to 14 minutes of instant message playback, a counter that displays the number of messages received and a voice stamp that recites the day and time of each message. The Caller ID display lists the name and number of the incoming call, even when the phone is in use. Other convenience features include a receiver beltclip, and the phone can be desk or wall mounted. Suggested retail price is $59.99.

The other new 900MHz models include:

26992GE1 Cordless Telephone with Digital Messaging System - Includes remote message retrieval, a counter that displays the number of messages received and a voice stamp that recites the day and time of each message, and 14 minutes of digital message storage. Suggested retail price is $49.99.

26938GE1 Cordless Telephone with Call-Waiting Caller ID
Three-line LCD display lists name and number of incoming call. Also includes a headset jack, Caller ID review, which lets the user to scroll through the numbers of previous callers, and delete and dial-back function. Suggested retail price is $34.99.

26928GE1(white)/GE2 (black) Cordless Telephone - Includes 10-number memory, one-touch redial, auto scan, which automatically searches through channels until it finds the clearest, and page function, which allows paging of the handset from the base unit. Suggested retail price is $24.99.
